The Best Of Resort 2011

resort_11_-_thumbnailThe resort collections have nearly all filtered out now. There were a lot more presentations this season (rumored to be at the request of Anna Wintour) and lots of collections seemed larger more considered. From beautiful botanical florals at Stella McCartney to refined, minimal lengths from The Row. There's plenty of inspiration from looks that would slip into your wardrobe easily.

The nature of resort collections tend to be a little hit and miss - which is an understandable result of designers experimenting or contrastingly playing things a little too safe. Designers seem to be split into two camps, those that use resort and pre-fall collections to create classics and the backbones of their main collections (think Alexander Wang) and those that use these pre-collections to experiment with new concepts and techniques (Nicolas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga) to good old Karl who delights in taking everyone on a dreamy journey. Here are my picks of the bunch.
