The Oscars Fashion: What We Loved

oscar_winThe Oscars: a night full of awards, talent, acceptance speeches, ups, downs, tears and most importantly for us... fashion!  Millions of viewers around the world tuned in to the Oscars Red Carpet presentation yesterday, hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Jay Manuel from ANTM, to become the armchair fashion editors of their dreams, if only for a few hours.

Of course some of the world's biggest stars shone with the dignity and poise they work so hard to cultivate, and others fell so far off the mark it was embarrassing!

This year we thought there were more epic fails than success stories, but we of course always have our favourites, and here they are...

Elisabeth Banks

Strapless and minimal jewellery was a big theme this year. Elisabeth did it well with this romantic Versace number, the colour and the ruffles off set the simple bodice perfectly.

Tina Fey

The texture and depth of the nude on black works really well here, while the one shoulder and cinched waist draws your attention upwards to Tina's lovely de colletage (a woman must always know her best features).

Nicole Richie

I love Nicole's style and here she ooozes retro glamour. She stayed clear of the strapless and light coloured trend and it worked, who wants to be wearing what everyone else is anyway?

Miley Cyrus

We are not a fan of her music but we are a fan of dressing your age!  Young starlets often fall prey at these dressy events of looking like they've aged 10 years overnight. Here Miley Looks fresh, young and gorgeous in Jenny Packham. I love the champagne colour, the bra cupped bodice and the beaded skirt falls perfectly on her. Well done young Miley!

Meryl Streep

I love this woman: check our her uber modern and chic hair do! The dress is perfect and the low neck line brings the perfect amount of sexy to a dress that keeps the rest under wraps.
